March 14th marks the 65th anniversary of the city’s St. Patrick’s Dat parade, and what better way to celebrate than by heading to the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade and River Dyeing?  The parade showcases Father Thomas Hurley of the Historic Old St. Pat’s Church as grand marshal with both the Gaelic Park and the Irish American Heritage Center as guests of honor and Kari McClowry, who was crowned the 2020 Queen.  For the best views of the parade, purchase VIP seats in the grandstand, which are available until March 13th at 9 am.  VIP seats aren’t necessary, of course—you can enjoy all the sights for free, too! 

For more fun, be sure to head to the river to see one of the world’s most famous St. Patrick’s Day traditions, the river being dyed green.  This portion of the celebrations starts at 9 am and lasts for about five hours. Be one of the thousands of visitors to experience the shamrock-shaded water while it lasts!
