Find Unique, Handmade Holiday Gifts at Christkindlmarket Chicago

Want to create new traditions this year close to home? Head to the beloved Christkindlmarket Chicago. A city holiday staple since 1996, the market is fashioned after a traditional German Christmas market that is quintessential during the holiday season. The event is free and features rows and rows of festive stalls with both local and international vendors selling artisan-made crafts and holiday essentials. Depending on what time you visit, you’ll also be greeted by traditional carolers!

Once you’ve shopped your heart out, you’ll be ready for a bite. Head to the German beer hall within the market, called the Stammtisch, and warm up in the heated tent while enjoying a mulled wine and warm pretzel! Last year the market was virtual, but everyone is excited to be able to gather again in person at the market this year. Maybe you’ll visit more than once to get in the holiday spirit?
