Fifth Third Bank Winter Wonderfest: Experience a Chicago Holiday Tradition

Chicago Holiday Tradition

Known as the signature family holiday event in Chicago, Fifth Third Bank Winter Wonderfest features dozens of activities — from an ice rink to a Ferris wheel and slides — all inside away from the snow and cold.

The festival hall at the Navy Pier is transformed into a winter wonderland for the event every year, with hundreds of trees, ornaments, and lights. The 170,000 square foot area is filled with attractions, including swirling hot cocoa cups, bounce houses, a hand glider ride, and a cookie decorating station. Families say the activities can keep children busy —and happy — for hours.  There’s also a separate area for younger children that features a ball pit with “snowballs” and a Reindeer express train ride. Santa Claus makes an appearance, as well.

Tickets are on sale now, and the event runs from Dec. 6 until Jan. 12. You can get a discount by buying tickets online, and there are different options, including an unlimited ticket that allows children to ride the rides as many times as they’d like. The event can get crowded, so go during the week if you can.
